7 Days Uganda Safari

This 7-day "Primate and Predator" Uganda safari adventure is specifically designed for travelers who want to focus on Uganda’s three most famous parks. You will journey from the "Primate Capital of the World" to the vast savannas of Queen Elizabeth, culminating in the mist-shrouded home of the mountain gorillas.

Day 1: Journey to Kibale Forest via Fort Portal

Your safari kicks off with a morning pickup from Kampala or Entebbe. You will travel westward through the rolling tea estates of Fort Portal, enjoying views of the Rwenzori Mountains. After lunch, take a short hike to the Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru caves and see the stunning crater lakes nearby. Arrive at your lodge on the edge of the Kibale Forest in time for dinner.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Nature Walk

Spend the morning in Kibale National Park for a life-changing encounter with habituated chimpanzees. After the trek, enjoy a local lunch before heading to the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This community-run swamp is a hotspot for eight different primate species and rare birds like the Great Blue Turaco. Return to the lodge for your final night in the forest.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, drive south into Queen Elizabeth National Park, crossing the Equator along the way. In the afternoon, embark on a two-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This natural waterway offers the highest concentration of hippos in Africa, along with elephants, buffaloes, and giant Nile crocodiles basking on the banks.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Crater Drive

Explore the Kasenyi Plains at sunrise, the park's primary breeding ground for Uganda Kob and a favorite hunting territory for lions and leopards. After the game drive, take a scenic drive through the Explosion Craters—one of the most photogenic landscapes in Uganda. Spend the evening relaxing at your lodge as the sun sets over the savanna.

Day 5: Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions & Transfer to Bwindi

Travel through the southern Ishasha Sector, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions. Keep your eyes on the ancient fig trees to spot these magnificent predators resting in the branches. After a picnic lunch, proceed to the southern highlands, arriving at the misty edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for your overnight stay.

Day 6: Mountain Gorilla Trekking

The pinnacle of your journey: Gorilla Trekking. Following a briefing from park rangers, you will trek through the dense ancient forest to spend one unforgettable hour with a gorilla family.

In the afternoon, you can opt for a Batwa cultural experience to learn about the traditional lives of the forest's original inhabitants before your final lodge dinner.

Day 7: Return to Kampala/Entebbe via the Equator

After breakfast, begin your return journey through the scenic "Switzerland of Africa." You will stop in Mbarara for a farewell lunch and a final visit to the Uganda Equator for photos and souvenir shopping. You will arrive back in Kampala or Entebbe in the late evening for your drop-off at the hotel or airport.
